Legion is here in body and spirit but not in noise and fervor.
During Chivas' game against the Galaxy on Sept. 13, Legion members threw smoke bombs and other objects onto the field, including a water bottle that hit Galaxy defender Troy Roberts in the head. As a result, Legion leader Obideo Mojarro essentially pulled the plug on the group's power for one game. According to a team source, Legion members must sit for the duration of Chivas USA's match against Kansas City tonight. I saw one drum earlier but apparently it's for decoration purposes only as no one is banging it.
No word on whether any of the incidents in the parking lots had anything to do with this sanction or not, however.

Clever clever boys...
Throw your rock [or flares] and then hide your hand and play the card of the angel and the victim.
Forgive me if I call this nothing but a shedding of crocodile tears.
I call it punishing those who were out of line and nothing more. I call it a message that if members don't behave themselves and cross the line then they will be more limitations imposed. I don't know where you come off with the playing the angel playing the victim crap.
I'm not sure if setting limits on appropriate support sends the right message on inappropriate support. It seems to punish the innocent with the guilty. Cheering and drumming are not the same as throwing flares and bottles on to the field.
Luis - how about a little more reporting on this? Was this required of La Legion or volunteered?
In either case, this is a pathetic response given the level of La Legion's outrages last week. All they are copping to is what was undeniable because it was caught on tape in the stadium.
If La Legion has any real regret for last week, then those who threw glass bottles at LARS last week will turn themselves in to the Sheriffs and somebody from La Legion will return to LARS the scarfs stolen, with violence, as well.
The behavior of La Legion last week was not a bug but a feature.
I don't think you can say it's "punishing" those who were out of hand when it's obvious that Legion 1908 was well organized for both lighting the flares and stealing the scarves.
Do you really think that if the derby had been immediately followed by another derby, this "self-imposed sanction" would've been put into effect?
Beside, I watched the match. They were not "sitting out" the second half. Yes, Legion was unusually small, but what members were there were jumping up and down and doing that hand waving motion they do. The TV doesn't lie.
Me thinks word has gotten down to them about MLS and the HDC's taking an interest in the post-game events of the derby and are trying to paint themselves with a 'good little boys' brush before the hammer comes down.
I think people are too quick to paint Legion members as dirty much like many American fans are quick to look at any Mexican player as dirty. You guys are constantly making blanket statements about Legion as a whole and its makes sense that they would impose a punishment that covers the whole Legion. This is just a message that if the behavior doesn't improve the rules will stay tight. As for the scafs and the parking lot. Are you sure it was La Legion? or was it the general Chivas support? Or could it have been Legion supported not associated with ChivasUSA's Legion? One thing is for sure they have made a first step by saying to members that if you cross the line there will be consequences. Gals supporters are riding it for all its worth but please show more proof then one smoke bomb on the field when blaming Chivas USA's La Legion.
Oh, I don't know... maybe you're right... poor Legion 1908 being victimized...
Nobody's ever accused Legion 1908 of being geniuses, which is why I wasn't surprised that they would post pics of themselves with our scarves online.

Who said La Legion were victims of anything? As for people taking your stuff I'm sorry to hear that their wrong for doing that. YOu guys can't protect yourselves? That you should have to do. But if DCU supporters could keep America's and Chivas people from taking their stuff I sure would expect LARS to be able to do the same. An what does it say about HDC security both inside the stadium or in the parking lot?
