Actually, I'm not from Honduras, but the name still caught my eye. Ricardo Canales of Honduras may play against Denmark today in their friendly. Canales is a goalkeeper there with Motagua, the local champion. He’s quoted in the Spanish press saying, “You’ve got to work your hardest to earn the starting spot.”
Bit of advice, Ricardo, should you start: watch for Simon Busk Poulsen. Yell at your defenders to stay on him, because he’s good.
I asked striker Jesper Bech what Denmark hoped to learn from the teams it was playing on their tour, if anything.
“You could say that it’s a big difference, from playing with the European teams. We don’t know that much about them. Maybe we can learn from that and use some of the things they do to put in our plays.”
