Freddy taking flight?

Perhaps.

Freddy wasn't ready

Freddy after the Barbados match explained that going in for Mastroeni was unexpected. He recovered, though, and went on to play well in the second half of the match.

Adu'nt know about that . .

Here's an email I got about my Adu article.

I have just read your article about Freddy Adu’s kind of frozen status at Benfica and I think he should find himself a team where he would be playing regularly , a mid-table team in any of the top leagues and he should shelve his dreams about playing for the Man Uniteds and the Barcelonas of this world for now....because what he needs now is regular match practice and that’s the way he can improve.

Who agrees? Why?
Disagree? Explain.

Aduing it right

Before I left on my trip, I filed a Freddy Adu piece that's up now.

Wouldn't it be nice

Here's a snip of my interview with Josmer Altidore, where he talks about playing with Landon Donovan and Freddy Adu.

Freddy scores again

This time, it's the winning goal.

Freddy off the bench

Bem Vindo, Freddy!

Freddy Adu comes on for his first minutes for Benfica.

X-man guides Adu

Grant Wahl's interview has the scoop on a Galaxy advisor to young Freddy Adu. Abel Xavier helped him make the decision to go to Benfica.

Xavier played against Real Salt Lake and Adu this season and was asked what he thought of the young player.

"It is clear that he has skill. He needs to go to a high level, though, to test that skill. He should go abroad to see how far his talent can take him."

Adu strikes

Freddy Adu broke out in a big way against Poland. He scored three goals in a 6-1 rout. Only two of them are up on YouTube.

Freddy makes MARCA

Full interview here. I'd translate, but that would deny everyone the trippy joy and confusion of babelfish.
