What about Clint?

Scott Wolf and I both wanted LD quotes, but we had to wait until Donovan finished getting his massage. We were escorted down by the locker room. As we waited, Clint Mathis passed by from the equipment room with a Galaxy game jersey flung over his shoulder.
"Clint, is that an official Galaxy jersey you've got there?" I asked.
Clint looked just a tad bit defensive.
"It's my jersey from when I was here," Clint said. "I just never picked it up, but I stopped by to get it today."
Mathis, of course, played briefly as a Galaxy player after being traded from NY and before moving to Ergotelis in Greece. He never played in a league game, though. He only appeared in exhibition matches during the Galaxy's tour to Sydney and Australia. Of course, Mathis had previously been a Galaxy player, back in their Rose Bowl days with a different jersey.
Mathis still doesn't know where he's headed to next. My question is, are any MLS fans interested? Would Mathis be a good fit for your team?

Nice shot

Clint Mathis is showing no signs of slowing down. After he spurned MLS and the Galaxy by joining Ergotelis of Greece, Mathis warmed up to his new club by knocking in this nifty equalizer in a 2-2 draw on the weekend against Apollon Kalamarias.

Is it me or does that little tune at the end of the clip remind you of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven?"

Anyway, nice goal!

Who ate all the pies?

I don't have much of a sweet tooth problem - although I actually like pies a lot more than cakes, because I don't really like frosting.

If there's such a thing as a fried/salty tooth, though, then I've got it bad. Whether it's wontons, fried plantains, french fries, egg rolls, latkes, whatever.

The thing is, I'm not a professional athlete, so it's not like my job is on the line if I indulge. Still, I can sympathize with anyone who has faced the realization that age has robbed one of the all-forgiving metabolism of youth.

Having come to an awareness of that fact, and dealing with it appropriately, has actually brought Clint Mathis back a bit to the days of his youth.

The taste of victory is probably sweeter than that of any pie.

Probably. I'd have to try the pie first, myself, just to be sure.
