Hummm

A rather curious tidbit - I'm not sure if other MLS teams have done this before, but Chivas USA didn't introduce the Galaxy lineup before the game tonight.

I haven't seen that before. Perhaps some readers will enlighten me on if this is done elsewhere.

It's a good idea. Is it just because it's the Galaxy?

The Fire introduces both sides here in Chicago, with the opponent getting the monotone treatment.

Yeah, the Galaxy do the drone tone on opponents as well. So do Chivas, usually. This is the first time I've seen them skip it completely, though.

WHOA!
Is that a new banner that the Legion just unfurled behind Guzan's goal? Very nice!

chivas has done it to the galaxy a few times before. I know they did it for sure at the very first chivas home match vs. the galaxy.

A slightly different topic (but staying with the tone of the game/fans)...I loved the banner and loved the pyro in the stands, it looked great on TV. I didn't like the pyro on the field, however.

They didn't skip it. What are you talking about it?

I was there and I heard it, they just read it really fast.

Yeah, they read through it very fast. It was like:

And now the Galaxy: JoeCannonAbelXavierChrisKleinTyHardenMikeRandolphCobiJonesPeterVagenasKyleMartinoCarlosPavonAlanGordonandcaptainLandonDonovan.

It wasn't just the reading fast - it was that they practically had the volume off for the Galaxy reading. I'm not that old that I'm going deaf, and I checked with my whole section of press people before I posted. None of them heard a single Galaxy name being called out. Luis was sitting in a different section.

How wonderfully tacky. So glad I'm now Chivas USA fan.
