Can I get a witness?

Rob Hughes follows up the Hilgenbrinck story. Well, as much as he can having never met the guy and hunting down info about him on the web. I'm not claiming any better - I never really talked to Chase. I do think the situation worked out well for Kheli Dube, though, and promoting him to a senior roster spot was a nice way for the Revs to reward his development and recent goal for them. Anyway, here's Hughes' thoughts on Chase.

a.c., as a lifelong Catholic, I hope Hilgenbrinck can make a significant difference in a church that's filled with corruption from top to bottom. I hope and pray his soul does not get corrupted by the mindless ambition of many of the American bishops and the narcissism of many of the priests (as the clerical sex-abuse crisis uncovered).

Often, unfortunately, institutionalized Christianity runs directly counter to what Christ wants and teaches.

My theory is, Hilgenbrink is New England's sacrificial lamb to get over the curse of losing in MLS Cup.
