Gone golfing

Greetings all. Sorry for not posting today, but we are out at Griffith Park participating in Chivas USA's annual golf tournament. We are trying to figure this golf thing out, but so far not so good. Andrea and I are paired with Keith Savage and Lance Parker and they are carrying the foursome for sure.

Hey LB, do either you or AC have any info on that YanksAbroad story on Donovan being interested in going to an EPL team? I have my doubts on the veracity but I wondered if you two had any knowledge on the rumor.

LD has said for sometime that he's interested in either England or Spain but that concrete offers haven't come in. He's not so desperate to go abroad that he'll take anything, but he's always been open to the possibility. I've been thinking for some time that his recent play and the increased visibility of being alongside Becks might prompt some team abroad into action.
But no, I've heard nothing about anything solid along those lines.

You right AC he did mention last season that he would consider England or Spain. I'm not suprised that he has no takers from Spain. Though I believe he would do well there. But I worry about him taking a beating in the EPL. He may also have high standards about who he would play for but the bigger teams just may not think he is good enough. Frankly despite him being the league's leading goal scorer this season his level of play is just not where it was a 2 or 3 years ago. I think he is trying to get the word out by having his agent stir the pot. He also wanted to go to China for the games and I think he wanted to do that as a way to raise his profile for a possible transfer. Teams may be worried that he will loose interest/flake out the way he did at Bayern Lerenkusen(sp).

Thanks for your reply!

I'm surprised you think he was playing better three years ago, but i guess that's as valid an opinion as any.

Landon did a phone interview on sky sports last week. When asked about his interest in moving abroad he said (paraphrasing) that he would be interested in playing in England, and playing overseas is something that entices him the older he gets. No doubt Beck's has talked up England to Landon, and he would like to erase his German experience. Much of the interview was about Beck's impact, the All-Star friendly, and MLS.

Hey, hey, I put up a different post about the Landon stuff - comment there.
