Memo to Everton?

Guillermo Ochoa may become the latest young goalkeeper to move from the New World to the Old.

Ochoa, a star with Mexico's Club America side,
is reportedly linked to Everton.

Everton, of course, is Tim Howard's domain. The United States national team's first-choice 'keeper will probably keep his starting spot with Everton, Ochoa or not. But that likely wouldn't stop Everton manager David Moyes from pursuing Ochoa.

As Aston Villa just showed by acquiring two talented goalkeepers, the more depth you can stockpile in England the better.

sounds like a lotta bull to me

either bunk or Timmy is getting feelers from bigger clubs. I know Bayern isn't totally settled on Rensing and lord knows Klinsy knows the US players very well.
I'd love to see him at Bayern featuring in Champions League regularly because, sorry Everton fans, Everton simply isn't going to be a perennial European force anytime soon.

There's been rumors of Ochoa going to Europe since last year, so I don't know why some think the story is "bull" as someone put it. He's an excellent young goalkeeper and would definitely improve if he moves over to Europe.

this sounds like Tim might be moving in the next transfer window. i can't see Memo playing over him so it looks like the bigger move will be Tim's.

memo has recently been linked to: chelsea, man u, and now everton...
hasta no ver, no creer... he must have a skilled agent though

Ochoa > Howard

Yes, very childish and simple way to put it, but if the two coincide at the club, I have a hard time believing that Howard will be able to hold on to the top spot.

Ochoa is simply phenomenal.

I don't think Ochoa is better than Howard at this point. Could he be better than Howard? Possibly, Ochoa is still young and still has a lot to learn at the highest level though.

I know Ochoa has been linked with other teams in England, but most of those rumors seemed bogus, especially the one where Man U was willing to pay $15 million for him. These numbers sound a lot more realistic for a young up and coming keeper with a lot of potential. That and it's Everton, usually players linked to smaller clubs tend to turn out true.

this could work in favor and not in favor for memo, not in favor because he'll be on the bench and that could hurt his chances being called up by sven or he can stay with America and hold down the number 1 spot that he has already.

No way. Not enough $$$ for Club America. Ochoa is worth at least 10 million pounds.

If he were Argentinian, Portugese, Dutch, English or Brazilian he would be worth 20 million pounds. Easy.

A 4 million pound offer is an insult.

OCHOA is not on the same planet as howard, maybe as Guzan but not HOWARD. everton might have him to battle for 3rd spot on the team at best. Seriously people on here need to open up there eyes. he might be a good stop blocker but will he do when 7ft peter croach is going for a header, go home to mami...

i agree america is NOT going to sell memo for less than 10 million... the club will try to profit big time on this one

Are you people insane? I think Memo is a great talent, but no way a goalkeeper is worth 10 million pounds, no goalkeeper without Euro experience is worth that much. Also America can either sell him now or he can just wait out his contract and America then gets nothing for him when moves overseas.

he won't go, Mexican clubs keep their players from going to Europe by offering them more money or not selling them.

Omar Bravo left Chivas on a free transfer this offseason. Chivas jerked him around for several years before they had no leg to stand on and lost potential millions in the process.

If Memo really wants to go to Europe, he'll get there sooner or later. Sooner would benefit his club but he'll be in Europe eventually if he wants to go.

It's for him..europe is the place to get better in football...

Today on jorge ramos they talked about it one of the mexican dudes who always gets mad has the gall to say that memo needs to go to a big club not some mid tier team like everton. Good Some mexican journalists needout more and watch different leagues instead of focusing so much in their league. they sound like fools with comments like. if it isnt a bigger club than America shouldnt sell him. Man they love their kool aide down there.

Lets be honest, the only successful Mexican who played in Europe(Spain) was Hugo Sanchez. However, We are seen more young Mexicans playing in Europe. Lets just hope their successful. Thats y i hope ochoa goes.
