In the locker rooms after the Galaxy's loss to the New England Revolution, veteran soccer writer Scott French smelled something - and it wasn't the dirty socks. He was sure that the latest rumor of a foriegn player to the Galaxy had some truth behind it.
"Abel Xavier is coming to the Galaxy," Scott prophesied. "That's why the Galaxy moved Shavar Thomas. Alexi (Lalas) did say they were moving for another international."
Scott didn't have a story to write that night on the game, so he and a few other writers were reminiscing over the colorful past of the Portuguese player - the crazy bleached hair, the ban for taking steriods, chasing down the ref, and the handball in Euro 2000.
If the move happens, Scott called it.
