Landon Donovan was asked after Sunday's game about the early breakaway attempt he had on Chivas USA's Brad Guzan. In the sixth minute, Donovan got the ball all alone near the top of the penalty area. He took a few steps but seemed rather uncreative and unimaginative. He tried a 15-yard shot but the ball caromed off Guzan, bounced off Donovan and went over the end line.
"That was a little disappointing. When I get a chance to work on it this week I’m probably going to take 30 breakaways in a row and work on doing the right things."
Landon kept his word. After training on Tuesday, he and Nate Jaqua were two of the last players to leave as they were each working on breakaways.

In case anyone was wondering, Donovan was putting away more shots than Jaqua.
I'm just glad to hear that Jaqua was actually putting the ball into the net!
