Kasey a Keeper

The past, present and future of US goalkeepers as Kasey Keller, Tim Howard and Brad Guzan run through drills on Tuesday.

Kasey Keller has made it no secret that he would like to play in Major League Soccer. But he's also made it clear that he won't take just any offer. In fact, he told Andrea that he received an offer from a Romanian club that was twice as much as an offer he received from MLS.

he kinda sounds like an a-hole during that interview

What's wrong with Mexico? It's still closer to Wash. or Idaho. Seriously, Keller is the man and hedeserves better. Rimando is a joke. There are very few teams that have a better keeper than Keller.

Actually, Luis and I were saying that, too, because the pay is better there. Keller speaks Spanish, and he'd be a great keeper for most any team in Mexico, so we're pulling for him to get an offer from there.

So all of the Keller-to-RSL rumors (a deal being announced next week) are false? Who else could they have signed??

If Guillermo Ochoa were to leave America and all indications seem that "Conejo" Perez will probably be replaced at Cruz Azul, then why not MEXICO?
Keller has "INTERNATIONAL SOCCER CRED" He can walk into any cantina in the D.F or Guadalajara and chances are people will know who he is.
I remember watching the USA-Italy game on Univision and the comentators praising Keller were going nuts. At one point, Jesus Bracamonte said he would buy a Keller jersey just so he could autograph it.
Plus, the idea of one the greatest US goalkeepers going to Mexico would piss off a lot of people and make others want to watch his games.

According to Steven Goff at the Washington Post - the Keller/RSL deal is close to getting done.

Maybe they both got desperate - Keller coming down a little on his compensation and RSL upping the compensation considerably.
