Late Sunday rankings (May 13)

A crazy weekend saw four of my top five clubs lose on the weekend; some were close (Rapids 1-0 over New York, FC Dallas 2-1 over Kansas City) and others were downright ugly (Fire 3-1 to Toronto... Toronto?!? Revs 3-2 over Galaxy).

Despite giving up a pair of goals, the New England Revolution have surged to the top spot thanks to Taylor Twellman's heroics. Meanwhile, Toronto's historic win is still not enough to get them out from the bottom.

1. New England (4-1-2). Twellman could score 20 goals this season.
2. Kansas City (4-2-0). Without Jimmy Conrad, defense fell apart.
3. Colorado (3-2-2). Cross-country trip resulted in strong win over New York.
4. New York (3-1-2). Suddenly, confidence is out the window.
5. FC Dallas (3-3-1). Maybe Carlos Ruiz should start on the bench every match.
6. Columbus (1-1-4). El Mellizo will be El Exitoso with El Crew.
7. Houston (2-2-1). Weekend off for champs to regain focus, perspective.
8. Chicago (3-2-1). Made Toronto look like cup contenders.
9. D.C. United (1-3-1). Next two opponents (Toronto, Houston) will play each other on Wednesday.
10. Galaxy (1-2-1). Harden-Marshall: shakiest central defense pair in MLS.
11. Chivas USA (2-3-1). Effort improved but still just one point from last three games.
12. Real Salt Lake (0-2-4). Should have fired Ellinger months ago.
13. Toronto FC (1-4-0). Will need more efforts like Saturday to climb out of bottom.
