Mark Zeigler of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes about the possibility of nine Americans dropping out of the English Premier League.
If Fulham drops, we could see several of the Americans there try for a new club. That might disrupt Bob Bradley's plans to use them during qualifying this summer and early fall which could have an affect on the US national team. It's happened before under Bradley, when Oguchi Onyewu went to Newcastle in early 2007. With his unsettled club situation, Bradley chose to leave Onyewu with his club instead of calling him in for a friendly against Mexico.
The best thing that could happen for all parties, of course, is for Fulham to stay in the EPL. Fulham has Liverpool and Birmingham at home and Reading, Man City and Portsmouth away.
