Sangre americana J13

Here's a look at the Americans in Mexico for the Clausura's Jornada 13

Michael Orozco, San Luis at Pumas, Sunday 10 a.m. PT: With a win and a Chivas loss, Orozco's San Luis side would move into the top spot of the both Group 3 and the overall league table. On 22 points entering the weekend, San Luis is in good position to reach the playoffs. Orozco is a likely starter against Pumas and will play a key role in central defense. Pumas features a potent strike pair of Esteban Solari (seven goals) and Ignacio Scocco (two) as well as ex-Chivas USA star Francisco Palencia (one) and Ismael Iniguez (two) off the bench. Orozco logged 83 minutes in last weekend's 2-0 loss to Jaguares, his first game back after helping the United States clinch a spot in the 2008 Summer Olympics. TV: Univision.

Jose Francisco Torres, Pachuca at America, Sunday 2 p.m. PT: After playing just once in the first nine games of the season, the Longview, Texas, native enters Sunday's tilt having started the last three league games. Torres played 76 minutes in Saturday's 2-0 win over Atlante. Torres also came on at halftime of Pachuca's 2-0 win over MLS side DC United in Tuesday's CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal match in Hidalgo. Given his current form, Torres is likely to play a significant role in the match. Pachuca sits in third place in Group 1, just two points behind Toluca. TV: TeleFutura.

Edgar Castillo, Santos at Morelia, Saturday 5 p.m. PT: One of the few bright spots in Mexico's failed Olympic qualifying squad, Castillo is unlikely to play because of injury. Castillo missed Sunday's 4-0 win over Tecos. Castillo picked up the injury on March 23 in a 1-1 draw with Pumas. Santos sits atop Group 2 with 20 points. TV: Azteca America.

Daniel Hernandez, Jaguares vs. Cruz Azul, Saturday 3 p.m. PT: Hernandez's Jaguares squad face a difficult match against los Cementeros. Hernandez is a likely starter in Jaguares' defense and will try to keep Cruz Azul's potent strikers in check. Cesar Villaluz and Gerardo Lugo will each test Jaguares' backline. However, Cruz Azul's ace Miguel Sabah is suspended for the match. Hernandez has played all 90 minutes in each of Jaguares' last six matches. TV: Azteca America.

Sonny Guadarrama, Morelia vs. Santos, Saturday 5 p.m. PT: Guadarrama has barely played this season. He last saw action on March 9 as he played the final 10 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Pumas. He has not played for Luis Fernando Tena, who took over as coach before the club's 0-0 draw against Necaxa on March 22. It is uncertain how Guadarrama fits into El Flaco's plans. TV: Azteca America.

Jesus Padilla, Chivas at Atlante, Saturday 7 p.m. PT: Padilla has not seen regular duty for Chivas de Guadalajara. He last played for Chivas on March 1. Chivas needs points to stave off a hard-charging San Luis squad, but el Rebano Sagrado likely won't count on Padilla to do so. TV: TeleFutura.

Please keep the Mexi-American updates and previews coming.

Most of the YA-stuff we get elsewhere is Euro-centric, so it's nice to get a rundown of the Americans playing in Mexico.

Much thanks.
