It will be interesting to see how the U.S. plays tonight, given that they played no real friendlies before the tournament. I guess we'll see a contrast of preparation between the U.S. and Mexico, as Mexico played five friendlies to tune-up for the qualifying tournament. Things didn't go too great for Mexico, at least on the attacking side of the field, but Mexico's players got primed against other national teams whereas the U.S. went up against college players in scrimmages.
Still, you could argue that the U.S. will use the group stage to prep for the semifinal. Really, the U.S. and Mexico should win their groups handily.
