At Abel's request

Just got back from the locker room and Abel Xavier walked by a couple of us media guys. As he walked by, he, uh, well, um...

"The ref is a fucking disgrace. Put that in the paper."

You got it, Xavi.

EDIT: I heard "big letters" but I was mistaken apparently. Xavi's accent sometimes gets the best of me.

Come on Xavi, tell us how you really feel!

anyone want to disagree with the guy with goofy hair?

i'm not a galaxy fan or a rapids fan, but that PK call was among the worst i've ever seen.

in other parts of the world, refs get told to take weeks off or worth fifth division games for a few weeks after calls like that. terrible.

Well, this is MLS reffing. Though the PK came at a crucial time, stuffing the momentum of the Galaxy, it wasn't as if they were playing spectacularly well.

And the fans respond to X, "so is your team, and especially your General Manager!!!"

Yes, the call was a joke. But so were the Galaxy tonight.

Let not blame the refs for this loss. Lets call it like it is, Galaxy has no defense and their offense is not sexy. At all.

Also, Gullit obviously didn't read the part in the scouting report where it said, "players will tire faster when playing in high altitude."

This was bad all around and the ref, who was bad, really bad, was the least of the Galaxy's problems.

Yeah, it was an iffy penalty call. But seems to me that if Xavier wants to be mad at anybody for ruining the Galaxy's chances, he could yell at the mirror for a while. He got embarrassed on that third goal and looked two steps slow all day. As did Vanney.

Not that there isn't a lot of blame to go around.

Days like this make me want to give up watching soccer. Or at least the Galaxy. Aargh!

I'm a Bolton Wanderers and Galaxy fan. After watching those games today I want to give up soccer and find a senior's lawn bowling team to start following.

The team fell apart after that call. Everybody completely lost their composure and the team became disorderly. Cue goal #3. Goal #4 just came from everybody giving up. I don't think this team is as bad as the score indicates, but I think they need to keep their heads in these situations. The league is going to be gunning for us.

ps. I think Ciaran O'Brian should be suspended until Ruiz plays again.

Abbey Olukawaja is the WORST referee in the history of referring. This man should be fired immediately!!

Abel headbutted a referee tonight.

I fully expect him to receive a 5-10 match ban.

I am a Fire fan first, but since I have been living in LA for a while it's kinda natural that I would follow LA as well, so I think I'm a bit more objective...
I have to say the PK call was an absolute disgrace. Though the Galaxy players behaved equally disgraceful after the call both towards the red and during play.
There should be at least 5 people fined for that display. It was shameful. The only person with any business talking the ref is the captain (Beckham)
That said, I don't think LA is as bad as they looked tonight. Thursday should be a good chance to get a 'W', if they don't well...then they're bad. :)

P.S. AC & LB you guys seriously have the best post game coverage of any MLS team on your blog. It's nuts how much multimedia and info there is here. Kudos. More towns should beg for this kind of work.

Xavier is an *diot

granted the pk decision was a joke but xavier's performance was much worse tonight

better start cleaning closer to home before moaning about the world being unfair.

the PK was a soft call, however, the play made by Xavi was quite stupid. There was absolutely no reason for him to go to the ground to make that tackle.
He also needs to shut up. His performance and attitude are disgraceful.
The Galaxy may be better off without him.

xavier's defending was horrible

the call was questionable

and then xavier made it much worse by becoming a huge jackass, and later lost it again to get the red card

he is a really awful team player, and by far the biggest disgrace on saturday night

Guys, this is what you get from a free transfer who joined the Galaxy after an 18-month suspension for steriod use. A blind man could see that in a minute.

Now we know that Lalas is not only stupid, but blind.

Then again, his employment reflects AEG's policy of hiring the handicapped, as anybody who has visited the HDC consession stands knows....
