Last thought on InterLiga

Before I forget, here's a link to the story I wrote about Saturday's America-Cruz Azul game. I wrote it for today's Press-Enterprise.

I pondered here the other night how great of a game that was and how it would rank among the games I've covered. I think it will go down as the best game I've covered at Home Depot Center. It tops the Galaxy-Pachuca game, which before Saturday was number one on that list.

I think number 118 on that list was the Galaxy-DC United game on June 2 of last year, the boring 0-0 draw between the two teams. Number 119 was Chivas USA-Osasuna in March of 2005, another boring game.

Do either of you have a vote for the Soccer Hall of Fame. If anyone who reads this does, I hope folks will consider a vote for Mike Sorber who has coached at Saint Louis University and is now an assistant to Mike Bradley on the USMNT.

He played for SLU and in MLS but the fact that he is the first American to be an All-Star in Mexico's top flight convinces me he should be in the Hall. He played for the UNAM Pumas.

He is just another reason Saint Louis ought to get a club.

That was a great match to watch on tv. Nice to see two teams who decided they wanted to win and not just go through the paces. I guess that means InterLiga will return next year.

Just watching Nery Castillo being stretcherd off in a FA Cup match. Doesn't look good, he could be out for some time. Dislocated shoulder.
