On to the airwaves

What the hell. We decided to take a stab at this TV reporting thing.

Here's the first edition of Sideline Views TV. We talk about - what else? - Chivas USA and the Galaxy.

I'd suggest you get a mic so you come across clearer.

I think I probably just need to face the camera more, and enunciate.

Or just yell. I do that much better when the camera is off.

Mics and a phony set w/ chairs and a roundtable would be good.

AC your already better than July Foudy. LB is already better than Wynalda.

BBSC

just another one of you said...

Great job. The production stuff always comes last anyway. It's nice that Sideline Views is done with a view from the sideline. Genius!

I think Greg Lalas and Shep Messing better watch out.

This is funny - I taught video production to college students when I was in grad school - so I could go on and on and on.

First step? SIT DOWN. The hands in the pockets and rocking back and forth is distracting.

Well I think you both need to speak with a little more passion, interest, and conviction. Didn't seem like either of you had your thoughts as collected as your writing.

Andrea I had know idea you were so hot!

Yeah, it was about 90 degrees on the field today, and my car's air conditioning broke down last week. Bad combo.

Anyway, all (inexpensive) suggestions are welcome. We definitely want to improve.

My one comment would be to stay still. Luis was a bit distracting with his fidgeting. And Andrea, I don't think he was referring to the air conditioning.

Wow Andrea is pretty hot.

Thanks for the ideas and compliments (blush)! We're going to try to get a five-minute segment up every week, covering the latest news and highlighting a specific match. Stay tuned.

Nice first run I hope to see another one done the road. Especially bold considering you're in a city full of film and wantabe film people. I always imagined LB as a big guy, Jaime was right you need a new SI.com picture bro. And Andrea your blog picture looks far from the woman talking in the video. All things serious great job! With your running in-game blogs, podcast, and now video cast, I think you two have your sights set on tv or launching a major North American soccer website. Your blogs has everything except(the "s" word $)....still well done I hope good things happens to the both of you for your work and love of the game.

LB's goatee rocks, and Andrea is verrrrry pretty! I like the show just for those two reasons alone, and the soccer talk is just icing on the cake! ;-)

Thanks for all the compliments and suggestions.

Yeah, I do need a new SI picture. I've dropped a few lbs. since that pic. I gotta shave and get a haircut... course, I said that a few months ago and then I shaved and got a haircut and didn't take a pic.

We had fun and we'll be sure and do it again.

Cool vid!

AC, if I was about 20 years younger and not married with a 7 year old daughter, I'd ask you out tomorrow!

Cool. But someone definitely needs a mic, you guys or the dudes practicing. I didn't know who to focus my hearing on.

When you guys create your opening make Ricky Martin's "La Copa De La Vida" your theme song. (What? What, is it wrong to love that song? Geez. "Vuelve" is also a good one, but I just don't see what that has to do with soccer.)

Are you going to record any player/coach interviews for future episodes?

L.B. said...

We'd love to do some player interviews and throw them up there.

As far as the fancy technical stuff, we used my Kodak digital camera to shoot this video so it's pretty basic but, like i said, what the hell. It's fun.

About damn time!!!

Andrea you are hot. Legit, too.
Luis, relax. Also, legit.

As a film/video grad, let me tell you that it wasn't bad. The important thing to do is talk to the camera like you would to a MLS player or your best friend. Chill.

It would help to sit down, but if you have to stand up, do it in the shade. Mix in some interviews. The camcorder you used needs a boom mic (80 bucks) it will zoom in the sound when the lens zooms in.

I would love to help you guys out (for free, of course).

Good job and good suggestions, too. I look forward to more Sideline Views TV. AC is fine! She is, as soccer-hater Kornheiser might say, gettin it done. A footy lover and hot, AC is surely many peep's dream girl.

pick a craft and stick with it. mediocre at multiple things is good for no one. how about a feature that is more than just strung-together quotes?
