Mind-meld

Bob Bradley and me - thinking alike!
Well, so far, at least. Bradley has started bringing in the new players for Barbados, and the first two, Danny Szetela and Chris Seitz, were ones on my list. Now, if he picks the rest of the eight I had, well, that would be a little eerie.

Why do we feel like Seitz deserves a call up to the full team? He's a kid who is riding the bench for the worst team in the MLS. Sometimes Bradley's picks just seem almost random. Now if he had called in Orozco that would have made more sense. whats wrong with giving guys calls up when they see regular minutes for good teams? Whatever happen to Jeremy White?

Jeremiah White, you mean? If I can explain my logic here (since Bob and I are on the same wavelength) the fact is that 8-0 took care of qualifying for this round - so why not get the Olympic team together for a competitive game? Why not also give priority to guys that haven't played a bunch lately, to see if they're up to snuff or not? So Szetela and Seitz make sense to me.

Seitz could use the games, since the u-23's are probably not going to play any friendlies anytime soon, olympics are almost here.

and regardless of who bradley picks someone will still complain about who he picks, although i do agree that certain players who deserve a call up shouuld get their chance for the team.

wow didn't expect random baby announcement from a good reporter in the comments section. this blogs got it all.

Now if only you could come to your senses and call in Subotic, Andrea.

Let's say Cooper gets the call (no given at all). Is Bradley going to start him and give him the opportunity to score a goal or two, causing fans and media to question the whole two years of EJ and lack of call ups of other forwards? I highly doubt Bradley will let that happen. If Cooper gets called it will be for 12 minutes of garbage time with the subs. Politics - just what Brad Friedel talks about. Would love to be proven wrong.

I doubt Bradley's worried that a good showing from Cooper will call his past decisions into question. He's got bigger things to worry about. Besides, even if Cooper does well, there's the inevitable "it was only Barbados" argument.

I can see the logic in playing the Olympic in a WC qualifier against a very weak opponent.

Drew Moore has been called in according to FC Dallas.

From another blog...Rolfe, Thorrington & Barrett were called in. With Moore, Seitz & Szetela that makes 6 of 10. Hardly inspriring selections with those Fire guys. Thorrington will be 31 by the time the next WC rolls around. Cooper will NOT be called in, you can bet on it. Bradley's player selections leave me scratching my head.

Cooper has a game that day or the day before so he had no chance of being called in for this game. Blame MLS on there great scheduling.

So it's better to call up Moor than Cooper from FC?
