Canales Corner #9
I'd borrowed a better microphone for some of these vlogs, but wasn't able to for this latest edition, so it's back to the crappy camera mic. Oh well. C'est la vie. On the plus side, I don't have to worry about syncing the audio up.
Funny how we can easily be our worse critic most times... no? You did fine, really. And the mic worked awesome, I had the volume up from listening to music and forgot, so now I have "hey everbody welcome to the friday edition of canales corner. It turns out that I..." echoing all in my ears. So yeah, you did fine, one back, two forwards. Except for forgetting to mention Liga de Quito is the most awesome team no one has ever heard of ;) Cheers!
Yeah, the camera mic is actually a lot louder than the higher-quality mic. I don't know what that's all about - probably something to do with sound level setting that I haven't figured out. And I used to work in radio, too . . .
And Liga does rock - but there's always so much stuff that I don't have time to get to . . . like the USWNT Olympic roster, for example.
Andrea - I really appreciate your work in covering soccer and these comments. I think staging the DC - LA game before the Euro final is a mistake. The weather may become brutally hot and it's going to be super slow if that happens. I'm afraid the "eurosnobs" are going to get another round of ammunition after this one.
Well, Andrea, now that all the matches are over we can say that your predictions were uncannily right on...at least until you laid out those last two, of course !
Congratulations on Spain's victory, which you must have been happy to see.
The Galaxy-DC game showed quite well against the backdrop of the Eurocup, even with the obviously life-sapping heat and humidity. DCU is shaping up to its usual good midseason form, and I hope they go far in Superliga-- until they meet their doom at the hand of the Revs :).
Corner #9 was really quite good, quite professional. I didn't notice more "uh's" than usual. Maybe they only stand out sharply for you because of the increasing polish of the 'casts?
Look forward to #10, and maybe getting thoughts on the USWNT, Superliga, and even delfin1's Liga de Quito [which, yes, I've never heard of before ]

No really obvious mistakes, but an epidemic of "uhs" today. Sigh. One step forward, two back.
"Uh" - lol - don't be so hard on yourself! :)
The interuptions sure were annoying but things happen that are beyond everyones control - just ask MatchTracker! :)
