Becks and Leno

Yep, David was on the Tonight Show on April Fool's Day. I was wondering if the segment was going to mention the injury problems last season, the pasting by Colorado on Saturday, but no - though they did get in a mention of Thursday's game versus San Jose.

It was a nice interview, though. David and Jay Leno are neighbors, and I think that helped David relax. They talked mostly about Victoria, actually.

The whole episode is up on the Tonight Show archive on the NBC site. David is the first guest.

This is verrrrry interesting. Drew Carey, the part-owner of a team that hasn't even played yet, attracts more than 50 comments for his remarks. Beckham, the "ambassador for MLS," gets nothing, not even from his homies in L.A.?

It's not really interesting at all, Mr. D'Hippolito. The Price is Right? Total juggernaut against which the MLS cannot even begin to imagine to compete.

Put that way, Soledad, you have a point. Nevertheless, it's at least ironic that the "ambassador of MLS's" appearance on a talk show that's been a juggernaut in its own right for at least 40 years does not generate more comments from fans in his own MLS backyard.
