Semifinals set

By beating FC Dallas, the Galaxy finished atop Group A while Pachuca finished in second place. The Galaxy will host either D.C. United or Morelia at Home Depot Center on Aug. 15 while Pachuca will play at Houston on Aug. 14.

With all due respect to Morelia, a D.C.-Galaxy semifinal would be fantastic given the clubs' history and the meaning of the match. Fans go back and forth between the two sides' history and tradition and all that, and a SuperLiga title would make one side's claims a bit louder.

Houston-Pachuca, though, could be the match of the tournament given the two teams' fantastic CONCACAF Champions Cup series in May. Pachuca will have Mexican league matches against Morelia and Atlas on either side of the semifinals while Houston will sandwich the game between MLS matches against Colorado and FC Dallas.

ADD: America salvaged a win and beat Morelia 3-2 on Wednesday. D.C. United will play at the Galaxy on Aug. 15. The result also ensured that all group stage matches were either draws or one-goal games.

We play DC twice within a week. League game on the 9th, and Superliga game on the 15th. Should be interesting.
