More Beckham craze

I'll be heading out to Home Depot Center later this morning to Galaxy training. The Galaxy closed their training sessions on both Wednesday and Thursday. If I got my head handed to me like they did on Tuesday, I might also want to run and hide from the world.

Anyway, I'll try and have pictures and audio up later, a while later. And I'll keep you posted with regards to Beckham's every significant move.

Here's a story that ran in the PE this morning about ESPN's plans for Saturday.

There's a good chance that Beckham's first game in SoCal might be on September 1st against Real Salt Lake.

Think about it, if he's not healthy enough to play on Saturday why would he suddenly be available three days later against Pachuca or next Saturday against Chivas? Plus, he'll miss the August 23rd match because of an England friendly against Germany.

Also, with all the England obligations, there's a good chance that Beckham will only play two matches in SoCal this season (against RSL and FC Dallas on Sept. 23rd). With all the hype, the biggest losers in this are the ones paying the most, the LA Galaxy fans.

That's really sad, you know. If we get all the hype first hand and the club raises their ticket prices for Beckham and then he only plays twice, that's downright sad and pathetic.

You can count him out of the Aug. 23 game against Chivas USA (as well as Landon Donovan and Jonathan Bornstein and probably Carlos Pavon and possibly Brad Guzan) as well as the October games against Toronto (13) and New York (18) and the Colorado game on Sept. 8.

But none of the England dates conflicts with any away games. Don Garber claimed it was a coincidence. And he said it with a straight face.
