Another mediotiempo cartoon, this one at DC United's expense. Maybe I missed the humor of it, though it always amuses me to see DC depicted as a blond semi-surfer-looking dude with a top hat. Is there anyone on United who looks remotely like that?
Anyway, the burro of Atlante says, "All gringos are alike. They see a burro and they feel like a ride." In the background is the DC guy again, getting chased by aChivas goat.
Some articles refer to DC as the Aguilas - noting, I suppose, that their mascot is an eagle. But I suppose this cartoonist wants to avoid confusion with the eagle that serves as the mascot for Club America.
In fact, no U.S. soccer team has an animal nickname. Some teams are referred to as a shortened version of the name, such as Revs for the New England Revolution, but no one calls them the Foxes (the Rev mascot is a fox). But in Mexico, most of the teams have an animal nickname.

The blonde in a top hap is, I suppose, a caricature of Uncle Sam.....DC being based in, well, DC which is as most of us know the nation's capital and thus Uncle Sam's abode
Gonzalo Peralta + anons comment

Why blonde, though? Isn't Uncle Sam white-haired? A young Uncle Sam couldn't be brunette?
Oh, Peralta - I guess I kind of see it. I just don't think DC and then think of Peralta. Moreno, yeah, or even their new big signing, Gallardo, but Peralta as the team's symbol is a stretch.
The blonde caricature is supposed to represent your stereotypical White American. Not anyone in particular.
Doesn't a Red Bull count as an aninmal mascot/nickname?
Is it the drink, or the bull that is the mascot?
Since DC just procured the VW sponsorship, we should start calling them "the Bugs."
