Weak display

I didn't get to see the fireworks display at Home Depot Center on Wednesday. The show probably started shortly before or during the post-game press conference, and by the time I was done and walked up to the press box, the only lights I saw were all the brakelights trying to get out of the stadium.

I hope, though, that the display after the game was better than the actual game itself. Good result for the Galaxy, abysmal performance by the Fire but a poor match to watch for the fans.

I made a play off the Fourth of July and the Fire's lack of, well, fire in the match for my MLSnet.com piece:

"On a night known for fireworks displays, the Chicago Fire forgot to bring their matches."

Pavon was fun to watch, I think.
