Real-Boca

I still can't figure out how RSL has one win in 15 MLS games this season but beat Everton 2-0 on Saturday and tied Boca Juniors 1-1 on Tuesday. Boca had some chances to win and the PK call that led to RSL's only goal was questionable but they got the result nevertheless.

Some highlights are up on Ole. It's a pretty small screen there but at least you can see the highlights. I looked for them on RSL's site and found nothing.

I'll tell you how they're getting results...they're playing friendlies against off-season clubs on their crap field. The teams probably see the field and don't play hard to avoid injury. RSL isn't fooling anyone with these results.

I still like Boca as a team, but articles like this make me cringe. The Argentines don't give Real Salt Lake the least bit of credit, and the final lines about how they "were so much better. They were Boca".

Complete arrogance, really.

Those 2-3 moves to split the D and draw a PK by Freddy Adu were awesome - very tight control in limited space to beat 3 defenders. Too bad it looked like he had to dive to get the pk - still some great continued attacking play from Freddy.

bonji, the friendlies weren't played on RSL's "crap field". Grass was installed for the friendlies. If you're going to make excuses, at least make correct ones.

It's impossible to believe that maybe all of Coach Kreis's shuffling and wheelin' & dealin' is beginning to pay off I take it? I won't go shouting that RSL has finally arrived and are going to win from here on out, but you can't deny that they are bringing more bite. For now, I'm content to just see them contend. The playoffs seem out of the picture, but... at least there is some hope again.

If you want me to believe they are playing with more bit and Kreis is bring that team together...WIN some league games!

Part of me thinks that MLS players just so hyped up to play friendlies and playing against the big names makes them feel even more hyped. However, they have to watch for the let down.
