Mexico beats the US

Mediotiempo is really excited about it, and it could be the start of a new rivalry. Yet the reporting is selective - nowhere does the article mention that the U.S. brought their under-20 team to the Pan Am games versus the full team of Mexico.

Come on Andrea, you take "selective reporting" to another level whenever covering anything dealing with Mexican soccer. Let's be honest...

In their (Mediotiempo, Mexico, et al.) defense, Mexico has a full-team down there but it's not exactly THE full-team.

I guess not, the Mexican full team (well, minus Marigol) beat the U20s back in February, 1-0 and 4-2, in a pair of friendly matches, so this PanAm could actually be considered an improvement for the U20s, except for the non-full team of Mexico. Who is missing for El Tri?

Um, I don't know who's missing. I don't pay that close attention (pfft, seriously? Facts? Proof? Ha!)

But all the teams down there have mostly their U-20 rejects, right? Right?

Actually, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico have their national teams there. In fact, I think the U.S. is the only one who brought a youth team to the women's competition.
