Monday rankings (June 11)

With the Gold Cup in full swing, we can't divert our attention from the Major League Soccer season for too long. Several teams had byes while others played two matches in the last 4-5 days. Still, the movement for this week's rankings took place in the middle as the top and bottom three remained unchanged.

1. Kansas City (6-2-1). A week off to rest and prepare for this upcoming stretch of games without Eddie Johnson.
2. New England (5-2-3). No games, no movement for Revs.
3. New York (6-3-2). Great win on Wednesday, horrible loss on Sunday.
4. D.C. United (4-3-2). Despite the New York whipping, D.C. still has plenty of room for improvement.
5. Chivas USA (4-3-2). Sign of a good team: take care of business on the road.
6. FC Dallas (6-5-1). Losing Cooper big blow for Hoops' hopes.
7. Houston (5-5-1). Welcome back, Dynamo.
8. Colorado (4-4-3). Who said they were number one material? Oh wait...
9. Chicago (4-5-2). Two things would make Fire fans happy: 1) Mexico fails to advance past the first round of Gold Cup and 2) Blanco is left off the Copa America roster. Wishful thinking, I know.
10. Toronto FC (3-6-1). Should have done better against the Bulls.
11. Galaxy (1-4-3). Anemic bunch right now.
12. Columbus (1-4-5). Excitement over Guille's arrival fizzled out a while ago.
13. Real Salt Lake (0-3-6). Would struggle in USL-1.
