Breaking Story

The two Cubans who defected from their national team during the 2007 Gold Cup may soon become part of MLS.

Luis found out today at Chivas USA training that they have both been offered a trial there.

We'll keep you updated on developments.

Cubanos USA? I'm glad to see that CUSA is looking for reinforcements, but what happened to all the talk that Cue and Vergara made in January during the first transfer window? I've also heard of Alas and Thompson. The HDC looks small when Chivas USA plays at home (and not against the "Galacticos"). We need our own "Beckham" to keep attendance up. Losing Guzan, Kletchsan, and Bornstien also fadctors into the equation.

They may not sign both of them, but if Chivas USA did, that would mean there would be more Cubans on the squad than Mexicans (without counting the dual-citizen Mexican-Americans).

This team needs some depth. Seriously, weren't they chasing Zidane? I hope attendance goes above 5,000 for the revs game.

maybe they'll return the favor and give them to the Galaxy :)

Are you taking a cheap shot at Chivas USA? No, couldn't be...

That is great they get an opportunity for freedom and a shot at making their dreams come true.

I was looking at the roster of Chivas USA U-19, which is on the road playing Mexican teams and I was very impressed with this roster. Also, the young man from Sueno Chivas, scored two goals against the Guadalajara Chivas 2nd division club.

Although I agree with folks that say they need to sign a big star to attract fans at home, maybe El Bofo would have been perfect. Or could they get El Loquito back?

Bofo has been banished to Chiapas. Loquito now gets to prove himself to Americo Gallego, the new Tigres coach.

How is that a cheap shot? The Cuban the team signed has been great for them.
I was responding to anon#1 who said Cubanos USA, and just pointing out the ratio.

Chivas is already filled with 3 SI's, Moore would need on of those slots, the other guy is an YI.
