X-factor
Every year at around this time, MLS moves out of the Home Depot Center and the Galaxy and Chivas USA play a bunch of road games because of the X-Games.
It makes AEG a good chunk of change and a new field is relayed before the soccer starts up again. Here's a few shots of what's going on in the grounds instead of the beautiful game.
How can that be good for soccer? Laying new sod a bunch of times versus cultivating a permanent grass pitch? HDC looks crappy almost all the time. Makes me scratch my head.

Look at that weak crowd. Chivas gets more than that! Move X-Games!
Yeah, except the TV ratings are big for X-Games.
I was being somewhat sarcastic. I know the X-Games are huge for ESPN, but I was also surprised the stadium looked so empty in the pic.
This is just practice. There isn't any competition going on at the HDC yet. When they have the contests this weekend the place will be full.

Yeah, I loved how last season they saved money on cleaning the bleachers by allowing the soccer fans to use their clothing.
at least they'll be putting in a new pitch (eventough it has to grow together afterwards), just too bad they can't do it in the tennis arena
Not really into that X-game stuff appart these "sled with weels" where they drive down a mountain/street.
