Credibility credit

So now blogs are being tracked on credibility - and apparently, Sideline Views isn't getting any love for reporting first that Ruiz was seriously injured and could be out for weeks. Sure, the doctors confirmed the injury was a meniscus tear in addition to a sprain [and a 4-6 week timetable] a couple of days later, but c'mon, we're the ones who first offered the probability of over a month without playing games.
Seriously, though, I've said before, since this is kind of a pro-bono project, we're not looking to break many stories on this blog. It's more insider commentary, what Luis and Andrea are thinking about lately, random trivia and info kind of a blog. That's unlikely to change, no matter where we end up on someone's scale.

Yeah well, we get stuff stolen from here all the time. It's been like that for quite a while, from when we first started blogging. I've seen things taken verbatim from here and put elsewhere without nary a link back to us. And then Andrea's video on Ruud gets stolen and posted on YouTube with, again, no mention of us.

But we've got some really great readers and that's why I bust my butt, for them. As long as we can meet their standards I'm happy.

Yep, I have to say, our loyal readers and the intelligent comments we often get from some regulars really makes the work worthwhile. You guys are the best.

I also follow your blog everyday. I understand your frustration. I wouldn't want the fruits of my hard work being stolen. But, this blog is really appreciated, and both of you do a wonderful job. Be pround of yourselves.

I really enjoy reading this blog and I do it daily. That ratings thing is just for fun though. I don't think anyone sees those standings and makes a judgment about where they will read soccer news.

Keep up the good work.

That credibility table would be more credible if the article to which it's linked was literate.

Your site is by far the best I've seen for the quality, quantity, depth, thoughtfulness (as in well considered not necessarily polite ;-) ), and presentation of your posts. You are certainly the most credible as you actually correct any premature thought or sleepy error you might make on pretty rare occasion. Fortunately your points of view are never stolen! Thanks for all of that.

I've been reading this blog for over a year and this post has motivated me to leave a comment to encourage you both. This blog is by far my favorite soccer blog and I love that you cover a wide range of the sport including MLS, USMNT, the Mexican league, CONCACAF and more. Thank you and keep up the great work!

I was actually wondering at the time why you guys didn't get the credit for that.

I read this blog daily. As a person who has done sports journalism professionally in the past, I have tremendous appreciation for the work you do. I expect timely, original, thoughtful, informed, professionally crafted and insightful content. Sideline Views exceeds my requirements in all categories. Plagiarism is a very high compliment indeed.
