Stop 'em before they start

I can already hear them. They don't even have to be uttered or written down anywhere. I know they're there.

"Why does Brazil come to the United States to play Mexico but not he U.S.? How can that happen?"

I'd suggest not even going down that road. Playing Brazil would benefit the U.S. national team for sure but by having Mexico and Brazil play here U.S. Soccer also benefits. The federation gets a cut of the revenue generated from the match. Not sure of the percentages but when you figure a possible turnout of 40-50K with ticket prices starting at $30, that's a significant amount of money.

I have to agree though. MExico gets it the US Federation does not. They rather play some team in SPain that is not even the SPain national team. Mexico is not afraid to play against the best. That is why they keep getting better and they will get better while the US can keep beating Guadaloupe and all these tiny countries, YEAH!!! that's the ticket.

Um, don't mean to spoil your rant here but the US didn't play Guadeloupe. Mexico beat that tiny country.

I think is very cool that the US is playing Catalonia, which has a fan base as dedicated as Spain's national team.

Mexico's games here just show one way how immigration creates economic possibilities for the US.

I really want Mexico to win though I prefer the US manner of play. I really think Mexico could have beat us in the Copa Oro if they hadn't lose time on uncalled dives.

BTW-- Has anyone started to anticipate the US versus Iraq match that will come up in South Africa in 2009?
