The U14 boys national team had their first scrimmages in camp yesterday. I'm seeing more technical play on the ball these days. Perhaps not coincidentally, I noticed the players seem a bit more on the small side, plus there's a lot more Latino players than I remember in years past.

Nice report ... is Christian Canales any relation?
Not that I know of, but perhaps he's some distant cousin. I only got the roster after the game was over and none of the Cal South players had numbers on their uniforms, so I couldn't even look for a family resemblance.
