Jonny B

So there I was, standing outside Chivas USA's locker room, waiting for Claudio Suarez when Jonathan Bornstein walked by. We exchanged hellos and I congratulated him for the game on Wednesday. I didn't get a chance to do so in Glendale because of the madness following the game.

When he was showered and dressed, I decided to interview him. He's a cool guy and very honest. He had a brown hat on with his shaggy hair sticking out of the side and looking ultra-hip.

I didn't get the chance to use all the quotes, though, so instead of letting them sit in some file on my computer, I'll slap them on here.

On his return to the club:
Everyone is really excited. I’m really excited to be back and ready to go. I’m feeling good. I’m fit and everything is looking up.

On his future with the USMNT: I’ve got to ride it out, play here and take it day by day.

Hi Luis, did you see in the MNT yearbook, who Benny F. said was his favorite teammate? He gave a string of names mostly from his days at UCLA. Those names are a who's who of the young generation of soccer now...what with Jonny B.(Chivas USA), Kiel McClung,(Galaxy), Patrick Ianni(Houston Dynamo), Taylor Canel(Galaxy), <---he played at UCLA before transferring to CSUN. I think they along with Lawson Vaughn)Chivas USA), Sacha Kljestan(Chivas USA) and his brother Gordan Kljestan(Galaxy) are our soccer version of the "Rat-Pack." Also Jonny B. and Benny F. played together in 2005 Maccabiah Games in Israel, where the USA team got the silver medal. Yeah I definatly think this is our soccer version of young-hollywood! Very exciting!

p.s= I still miss Paco, I watched his game over the weekend (on TV) he made a goal off a very nice header. Did you see the stadium he was playing in? There was barbed-wire on top of the fence that enclosed the pitch...pretty crazy! I enjoyed all your articles on Claudio Suarez, and Jonny B. I have a question though, what is happening with Ante Razov, and Preki's clone you know the one who looks like he could be Mick Jagger's son...John Cunliffe? How is pre-season going for them? Thanks, sorry so long-winded.

P.S dos= I went to the USA-Mexico game!!! That's how I got my MNT yearbook. It was off the hook! I was cheering for the USA of course, but damn I have never felt like such a minority, and I am a minority! That is until the next census anyway. Okay ya termino todo!

Mick Jagger's son!!! That's classic!

Actually, I'm getting ready to go to Carson to watch Chivas USA and the U-23s play. I am anxious to see who they will start alongside Razov, though I'm not sure Ante will play. They're taking it easy on him this preseason. I think they want him to be healthy and don't want to risk setting him back this early in the year, you know. It's more important for him to play in September and October than February and March.

I think John Jagger-Cunliffe and Edwin Borboa have a chance to start and will probably come down to them. Can't see Matt Taylor doing anything to impress.

Glad to hear you made it to the US-Mexico game. It was so intense. You probably had a better feel for the atmosphere than I did. I was in the press box behind some heavy glass and could not hear the crowd well at all. That's what I like about the HDC. It's open. Yeah, it can get cold there but you get a real feel for the environment and all.

Keep checking out LASoccerNews.com for Chivas news. I put up a story on their forwards this morning and will follow with stories on the midfield, defense and goalies (go Brad!).
