Golden guess

Well, Luis put up his guess-who pictures of the senior national team in training. So it's my turn, but I'll be pretty impressed if someone can correctly identify all those in this group pic of U23 Olympic players Bradley has in camp now.

Well I don't think I can do it but heres a try.

Left to Right:
Michael Harrington, Jules Valentin (really don't know), Will John, Jamie Watson, Patrick Ianni (can't tell either), Sacha Kljestan, Rob Valentino?, Cristman, Quavas Kirk, and Tally Hall?

You'll have to wait for A.C. to give you a for sure because I had problems with the senior team... Sacha's hair is different so I wasn't sure about him and if I'm not sure about the one guy on the team I can normally pick out from a crowd, well, I probably wouldn't be able to pick anyone else.

Unrelated to your question, but related to your post: why isn't a certain Freddy Adu not on the squad? Too much of an "experienced pro" to be in the U23 squad, or, dare I say it, not good enough?

I don't know for sure, but I think it could be because they want him to focus on the U-20s. This camp to me seems a bit like it's just helping give Bob some familiarity with this group of players and there will likely be more of these types of camps: one week, turnaround and play a few games together, go back to clubs.

Someone's been reading the camp roster - but there's a few mix-ups in your guess. I posted a pic of the second group of runners, which might help you sort everybody out.

As far as Freddy, I didn't ask that question, but I'd guess that he's a known entity, and they wanted to look at some new options, taking advantage of the eligibility of older players.

Ahh, the second picture.

Hmm... I recognize Nathan Sturgis, Patrick Ianni and Tim Ward.

2nd Picture is a bit better for me

Left to Right:
Sturgis, Barrett, Ianni,(unknown), Freeman, Holden, Colaluca, Seitz(behind), Alvarez(front), Ward(front), Peterson

On Freddy:

Hmmm... well, I guess with Sturgis there the whole concentrate-on-the-U20s thing doesn't hold water, does it now?

Freddy is more of a known commodity, especially with Peter Nowak as an assistant coach.

On 2/10, the Salt Lake Tribune mentioned that Freddie was asked, but Ellinger declined the invitation because he wants Freddie to get accustomed to his new RSL teammates.

Ha! That's funny, because when I talked to Lalas about the Olympic team training disturbing the Galaxy preseason, he clearly wasn't happy about releasing Kirk and Sturgis. Guess Ellinger just had more guts to say, "Stuff it - you know how he plays and I need him here."
