Hope there's a further explanation of your comments on Gonzalez, since what's been posted thus far doesn't pass the litmus test of journalism.

Will be looking for that follow up beyond "not wanting to go into the blow by blow".

Boy oh boy, I'll tell you what screams professional journalism...

Using your dear diary blog page to drag someone's name through the mud. Handle it like a professional, through the press offices. To attempt to work up public sentiment through a blog like this is embarassing.

Just disgraceful.

This blog has always been about our experiences as sports reporters. I get emails often from females hoping to break into the industry, and I mention my blog as a way to track what the life is like. There's good and bad, and I'm not going to omit either.

I did contact the league as well, but I'm not of the mind that anything should be hushed up. People should know what really happens.

I don't know if we're trying to work up any sort of public sentiment. Andrea did follow up with the league and it's being taken up those channels now.

Life as a journalist is easier when you report the news and let people make their own decisions and draw their own conclusions. We open ourselves to that occasionally here on this blog because we like to share our life as a soccer writer here, good and bad.

People are free to not read this blog if they don't enjoy it, plain and simple. Or they can continue following our antics here. Either way, we'll be right here.

Guys, you can't defend what Gonzalez did just because he plays for the Crew...

He put his hands on a reporter. Regardless of gender, that should never be defended. He made a spectacle of the situation, when he could've handled in a much more professional manner.

AC and LB are right, if you have a problem with the blog, don't read it.
