Landon's goals

In keeping with the Landon Donovan theme of the last few days, I wrote my latest Press-Enterprise column on one of the Inland Empire's best products. Landon Donovan was born in Ontario but is a product of Redlands, where he spent some time at Redlands East Valley High School back in the late 1990s. I saw him play a few times for REV and he was certainly a man among boys back then, not so much with his physique but certainly with his game.

I spent some time today as well trying to sort out his top 10 U.S. goals. It took me a while as I debated amongst myself but I sorted it out. You'll have to wait until tomorrow for the final list but I wanted to see what you guys consider his top U.S. goals ever.

If you need some refreshing, here's a good list to look at as you decide.

Gotta put the header vs. Mexico in WC02 as No. 1.

Also in there is the 2nd and 3rd goal vs. Ecuador this year. The goal vs. Mexico in February of this year. There's a goal or two vs. Costa Rica in WCQ that were sweet. Also, there was a sweet header vs. Panama(?) maybe in WCQ.

1. Header vs. Mexico in World Cup.

2. Long range blast vs. Ecuador earlier this year.
