I agree with Luis that the personnel changes at El Tri are not that drastic, but I was at that game in Columbus in 2005 and there was a bad vibe around the Mexican team at the time. The controversy over LaVolpe was really wearing on the players, I think. It became a distraction and I think it affected their play, especially in such a high-pressure match like the one against the U.S.
It doesn't look to be that way now. Even though the team hasn't played much under Sanchez, they seem really united behind him. With the inspiration of a new start, I look for Mexico to come out charging.
