This basically addresses none of our needs as a team...so... GO FOR IT LALAS!

Is Lalas getting paid by every other team in the MLS to screw up the Galaxy. Shaking my head in another brilliant Lalas move. I liked Mathis during the '02 world cup, but has taken a step backwards as of late, so how is he going to help LAG out, besides having a pretty high salary.

Well, Mathis is being left unprotected for the expansion draft. It would serve the Galaxy right if San Jose drafts him. Of course, Yallop probably knows better but I love anytime Lalas gets screwed over.

Errr... ease up drama queens, the move was carried out by Bravo, not Lalas.

Hammer, you said on your blog that Mathis could be Pavon's replacement. How, since they're both slow and Mathis isn't known for his aerial game? Second, you said that Mathis could be trade bait. How much value does he really have, considering that the Galaxy traded a third-round pick for him?

Whether Lalas or Bravo made this deal is a non-issue. It just shows how desperate the Galaxy is to acquire players who might be able to play with Beckham.

I'll try to say something positive since everyone else has already stated the negatives:

Mathis still has a way of showing up in big games and has never been one to avoid the spotlight, so the LA circus seems like a good place for him. Dude can still finish too.
