Defense looked terrible. Offense looked very suspect too. Actually, Mathis looked promising. Please tell us more about Ruud's plan to get the guys in shape. Beckham mentioned "The Milan Approach". Very interested in this, sounds like something out of a Spielberg/Eric Bana movie.
"So the perrenial top A-League team beat a non-playoff caliber LA Galaxy. I think it is still clear MLS is better top to bottom."
Sydney FC isn't the top team in the A-league, not even close right now. I don't think you can make a fair assumption about the quality of the leagues from this game, but Sydney was using mostly reserves, and LA didn't have they're full line up either.
That being said if this was a Mexican or Euro team that was beaten 5-3 by an MLS team, I'm sure we'd never hear the end of how the MLS has caught up to the rest of the world and how everyone better watch out. So I'm gonna give credit to Sydney FC and assume the A-league isn't as bad as people think, just like the MLS isn't as bad as people think.
If you believe that than you'll believe just about anything, won't you?
The Donovan to Mexico rumors have been going on all year, though.
I remember hearing during the summer that Club America was in talks with Galaxy to buy Donovan. Obviously that didn't happen and if that didn't happen then why would a move to Monterrey?
MLS changed the grandfather clause for non DP players just so Donovan could stay in LA another year. He isn't going anywhere. Plus his wife is an actress and he ain't leaving her behind in LA

I think the Galaxy actually went down to 9 men - Buddle started cramping up and they were out of subs.
Both of your hyperlinks are to the ESPN write-up.

Anything to the new Simon Fuller/Zidane/Galaxy rumors?

Those rumors are pretty old.

Thank you anon 9:53. I think you touched on all the good points to bring up here.
Have you all heard anything of Donovan being to sold/loaned to Monterrey??? According to ESPN Deportes it is a possibility.

Maybe this is a chance for Bianca to tap into her Telenovela skills? This could be her opportunity to become a big Telenovela Superstar! ... or not.

Pan pacific cup announcement, DP-grandfather clause, and a game in NZ yet you guys are where? Christmas must have come early.
