Mum's the word

Tickets for the LA Galaxy-Chivas de Guadalajara match have been on sale now for almost 24 hours and still we have no official announcement regarding the game from either MLS or the Galaxy. Perhaps the club or league is trying to secure the participation of another club or clubs for a doubleheader. Or maybe they figure everyone is paying attention to the Gold Cup or something.

Whatever the reason, fans are being kept in the dark - and that's not necessarily the best thing to do.

It's so easy to stumble across the game that any unsuspecting ticket seeker could find it. Anyone who goes on ticketmaster.com and searches for Los Angeles Galaxy will find it. It brings up the team's calendar and dates in June come up. Go to July and click on the "Galaxy vs. Chivas Ralladas" link (...Ralladas should be Rayadas, incidentally, the striped goats, not the ralladas goats) and click on that, and there you go. There's some promotional code so if you try Beckham and get nothing, and then try Chivas and get nothing and then try Galaxy and, presto, you get something.

So now I've got a screen up with four $25 seats with a $6 convenience charge apiece (*%#!@ convenience bullshit) and then you've got the standard mail option, go through the credit card process and now you've got four tickets to a game that the Galaxy has not bothered to tell you will be played.

I'm sure there will be a lot of pomp and circumstance when this game will be announced, something like:

"The Los Angeles Galaxy, in conjunction with Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing, will make an official announcement regarding the highly-anticipated SuperLiga matchup between the Galaxy and Club Deportivo Guadalajara. Details of the match will be released shortly."

Whatever.

AEG also works as the password. It was the first thing that came to mind, and worked.
