In Frank's own words

"It’s a natural turnover of guys that happens at clubs. It’s not just the guys who have been here a while. It’s getting the right chemistry and the right salary cap and getting the situation where everyone fits into the puzzle and the team is going to be good. We are looking at other players at the moment. We’re trying to make the right moves. I feel for the guys who have had to play 90 minutes of every single game we’ve had. I think they need a break, some of those guys. Sometimes you need to get out of it for a bit and then you come back in, you feel you’re a different player. But we’ve had to play every game without a real chance for me to change things. It does wear on you and once you’re out there, there’s no hiding place. If you lose confidence a little bit, and you have to play 90 minutes every game, it’s not easy. It’s going to take a while to get people back and healthy, but at least they’re on their feet. Alan, Quavas and Troy have joined in practice five days ago. Alan was a good player for us last year. Quavas was a good young player and Troy had a good season up until his injury. Those are positives that make us think we’re getting there. Some of the guys that we’ve moved or traded – unfortunately, whether they’ve been here a long time or not, sometimes it’s something you have to do. We try to make the right move for the club and not think about who has been here the longest, but it is sad, to see Tyrone go, of all people, because he’s a good guy. He’s been a great leader for this team. But at this point, we had to do something and that was appropriate. With the emergence of the younger guys, we thought that it was something that we could do."

"If you’re doing really well, you don’t look to change things. I’m looking at individual performances too, not just the team. I realize the team is struggling to get results, but I look at individuals and think about if they can handle the way I want to play. To get the right results, I wasn’t to make sure that we have people in the right areas to do what I want them to do."

"Having everyone together for weeks and weeks we haven’t gotten results. It’s about time that we’ve gotten a bit of success in these games where we’ve played pretty well and not got it. What you can’t is get down and start to doubt yourself. I said to the guys, “We’ve got a big game on Sunday. Let’s go. Let’s get ready for it, because it’s not going away.” New faces sometimes lift other players. They bring a spark, especially this gentleman here. I think Edson is also going to come in and be hungry to do well for this club and I’m excited about it."

"Edson will probably be in the starting lineup. I’d expect him to start the game. I think in every game we play right now, we need three points. It’d be lovely to get a good home win so we can get our breath and then look forward to the next match. We’re trying to do that. I think the two moves we’ve made will impact our game, and the one will impact in the scoring department. We’ve had the chances, but we haven’t had the actual scoring touch and that’s what we hope Edson will provide for us."

Andrea, what about the Donovan trade rumors that seem to keep swirling around? Can you confirm or deny from your viewpoint that anything is going on?

I'm not about to confirm or deny anything, because I certainly didn't see the Tyrone Marshall trade coming, though it made sense in hindsight. I'm skeptical, though. Donovan has certainly contributed to the Galaxy this season.

Thanks for your response. Hopefully it is totally baseless.
