A reporter responds

I'm not going to print his name, but a fellow journalist just sent me an email about the previous post, making an interesting point about the credibility of all reporters being at stake.

-Excellent work on getting the truth of the Wynalda
thing out there. The Internet is a dangerous place,
where a bottom-feeding wannabe journalist with no
training and no concept of what we do, how we do it
and why we follow certain rules can get something like
that out there for all to see. And often in these
situations, it makes the subject more wary of dealings
with the legitimate press. Like when an out-of-towner
comes in and writes something that doesn't belong in
the paper, and the beat jockeys suffer for it.

Of course, I don't think Wynalda is a guy that will do
that. But in a sport that isn't so constantly
self-aware of its need to sell itself? All bets are
off.-

Cool, if there's more information coming on this than all the better.
