Getting WWC ready

The U.S. women are in prep for the World Cup, perfecting new formations and trying different player combinations.

This Sunday, Kristine Lilly takes part in the ceremonies for the draw, where the U.S. finds out who they face in group play.

The USWNT have yet to play the 3-4-3 system on television, yet it is the one I am most anxious to see. On paper, it seems to be able to utilize the width of the field better than any 4-3-3 lineup with the current roster.

I like the new formation a lot. It just puts constant pressure on the opponent and with more bodies up front, leads to more of those short, quick passes I enjoy. Exciting stuff.
