My latest article focuses on some recent MLS trades and the bigger market picture.

Very nice article!
Sorry for a comment that's otherwise irrelevant to the post, but I am surprised that neither of you wrote about how MLS ignored the FIFA calendar for international games -- Galaxy being one the teams affected, with a game a day after an international (qualifying game) date.

a.c., I'm looking forward to a players' strike when the CBA comes up for renegotiation. The league has been bleeping the players finanacially for a long time now. It's a sin for people like Harden, Tudela and Randolph to be making barely enough to live on in this area (SoCal). If AEG can afford to pay Beckham and Donovan the big bucks, they can afford to take care of the young players in the fashion that clubs overseas do, with housing and transportation. After all, that's what the "super clubs" do, right?

joeseph,

clubs can not pay for player's housing. It's against the rules. Some club do it of course, but on the extreme down low.

Albright got horribly jobbed and Lalas won't talk about it. Sounds about par for the course. What happened to the kid last year for the Galaxy who was interested in cleaning Beckham's pool for extra cash?

FC Uptown, do you know who this player was? He probably got traded for allocation money...

It was Harden. And he's still around.
