Chivas USA and Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista had been linked often during the last few weeks. A big star with Chivas de Guadalajara, Bofo had apparently ran out of time with Guadalajara and the natural assumption was that he would join Chivas USA to help boost attendance and give the club a shot in the arm.
Nothing going on. Bofo is now a member of Jaguares on an outright transfer.
I don't know if Chivas considers Jaguares purgatory or what but it seems whenever a player falls out of favor with Chivas, that player ends up in Jaguares, who are based in Chiapas. Luis Alonso Sandoval, who walked out on Chivas USA in the 2005 preseason, was sent to Jaguares on a loan. Johnnie Garcia, who did little for Chivas USA last year, was sent to Jaguares. Alejandro Vela and was also sent there, and now Bofo.

No Bofo? No problem. He was one MLS tackle away from crying himself off the roster. Preki would have bitch smacked him for Guevara-like behavior.
