Gabbin' Garber

Don Garber took in the match at Home Depot Center in person yesterday. He was in Colorado earlier in the day and made it out to HDC in time for the Toronto-Chivas game.

Here's a little bit of what he said. I didn't stick around too much longer than the first few minutes of his chat because I was busy doing stuff.

Interesting about the expansion topics. No mention of St.Louis nor San Fran. Instead San Diego, Atlanta, PacNW.

I just don't see the support in Atlanta for a MLS team. The ATL halfway supports the Braves, you have to give away tickets for the Hawks I think the Falcons are the only strongly supported team in the city. There is only one men's college soccer program in the whole state. Why not focus on cities with proven traditions in soccer oh like St. Louis and Portland. I think ATL and Philly are mistakes in the long run. A team with a stadium in Queens located by the subway would be a hit count on it.

There's a good chance Atlanta is considered viable because there's a big money man involved and he wants a team there.
