El clasico femenino

U.S. versus Mexico today, broadcast to a worldwide audience!

Ok, so people probably haven't heard much about it because it's the women's national teams competing.

The worldwide broadcast is courtesy of ussoccer.com and their live webcast of the game.

Play-by-play will be handled by Neil Buethe, the site's Studio90 host, and Aaron Heifetz, the press officer for the women's team, will provide the color commentary. Hopefully, Aaron will get a chance to dish a little inside info. He always keeps track of things like which player has scored the most versus Mexico.

As far as Mexico goes, I'm sad to see that some of my favorite players aren't listed on the roster for today's match. Iris Mora is a great, technical mid, Monica Gonzalez is a tough defender and still skilled with the ball, and Veronica Charlyn Corral is a precocious, creative player.
But El Tri still has Maribel Dominguez, their greatest scoring threat, and my current pick as the best player on the squad - Monica Ocampo. Expect good things from Guadalupe Worbis and Fatima Leyva as well.

It will be interesting to see if Carli Lloyd continues her hot streak with the U.S. team. She looked very confident in team scrimmages. So has Lindsey Tarpley.

As far as new faces for the U.S., UCLA's Lauren Cheney, the youngest player on the roster, could get a few late minutes.

Prediction: U.S 3, Mexico 0, goals by Wambach, Tarpley, Boxx.
