Leaving a legacy

On a more serious note, everyone was gathered for the ceremony to dedicate the field to Glenn "Mooch" Myernick.

Coach Bob Bradley gave a short, heartfelt speech.

"Anytime I spent anytime with Mooch, I was motivated, uplifted, reminded of so many different things; of what a privilege it is to be involved with this game, reminded of what it is to try to be a good father, good son, good husband, good man. He reminded you of that without ever talking about it - because that's what he was."

Nancy Myernick also managed a few emotional words.

"He spent a lot of hours on this field. A lot of happy hours, a lot of frustrated hours - he went through all the emotions. But he was never happier than when he was with the national team."
