It seems that DeRo might have been referring to the additional revenue likely to be generated by the MLS using the Beckham brand - quoting from the H. Chronicle article:
While MLS salaries for even top players such as De Rosario are minuscule compared to the former English captain's, De Rosario is hoping the added revenue the league will generate will help the players' cause.
"Hopefully I can get some of that as well," De Rosario said.
I think it's a bit unfair to characterize this as the kind of resentment that Vagenas prophesied.
The part that I was referring to was specifically this statement from Vagenas = So on one end you say ‘more power to him’ and the other end ‘why can’t I be getting some of that?’"
